first they have you call in your claim to a call center in india,they cannot answer any questions you have,then you must wait for a call center person to call you,and if you try and call them you get voice mail,then they sent out a girl to look at my damages she looked like she was homeless in the way she dressed,she took 3 days to get my shop the paperwork,then when the car was done they would not release it becouse they had not gotten paid yet,god help you if you ever have a claim with gmac insurance.

I had GMAC auto for many years. Geico quoted me about $400 less for the same coverage. When I called GMAC to cancel, I was informed there was a "cancellation charge." Yes, GMAC will keep unearned premiums if you cancel. The Illinois Dept. of Insurance tells me this is illegal..

The like to arbitrarily raise your rates, I buy my homeowners insurance though them annually this year without rhyme or reason my Premium increased 225 dollars for the same coverage they did the same with my auto insurance which i Switched and now will do the same with my home owners as well.

My husband had an accident on Jan 10, 2008. We are still trying to get a settlement done. The adjuster that was suppose to look at the car on Jan 14th but didn't show up until late on the 16th and then wouldn't give the repair shop a yes or no to repair the car. Then on Friday, Jan. 18th the person up in Michigan at GMAC insurance called the repair shop and told them to go ahead with the repairs, but 15 minutes later caleed them back to tell them that they had decided to total the car out. The man in Michigan called me and told me it was totaled (the car had passenger side door and back quarter panel damage on a 2002 that was in great shape otherwise) and that he would send me the forms needed to settle the claim out in overnight mail. We didn't get the forms until the following Thursday. We signed the papers and sent them back priority mail so they would received them on the following Monday. It has been a week since they should have received them and we still have not received a check. They have sold the car to a junk yard and have the title to the car but we still don't have a check to buy a different car with. My husband and I have called several times throughout the week to find out what is going on but all we get is voice mail and no one returns our calls..

when my house was completely destroyed due to a natural calamity.
