I had 3 vehicles on auto ins with GMAC. One was not running so I dropped it and left the other 2. When the new rates came in the mail they raised each car by several hundred dollars. I called them and told them I no longer wish to have ins with them and I wanted to cancel the policy immediately. The service rep hung up on me. I called back and asked the next cust service rep if she had canceled as I had asked she said no. She informed me that I needed to call my agent. I called my agent who informed me that if I did not pay for the ins then I would no longer be covered. Now they are sending what they say I owe to collections and harrassing me on my job. I plan to take them to court soon.. |

first they have you call in your claim to a call center in india,they cannot answer any questions you have,then you must wait for a call center person to call you,and if you try and call them you get voice mail,then they sent out a girl to look at my damages she looked like she was homeless in the way she dressed,she took 3 days to get my shop the paperwork,then when the car was done they would not release it becouse they had not gotten paid yet,god help you if you ever have a claim with gmac insurance. |

I had GMAC auto for many years. Geico quoted me about $400 less for the same coverage. When I called GMAC to cancel, I was informed there was a "cancellation charge." Yes, GMAC will keep unearned premiums if you cancel. The Illinois Dept. of Insurance tells me this is illegal.. |

The like to arbitrarily raise your rates, I buy my homeowners insurance though them annually
this year without rhyme or reason my Premium increased 225 dollars for the same coverage they did the same with my auto insurance which i Switched and now will do the same with my home owners as well. |
